Indivisible Tohono – Impacts of Covid-19 Speaker Series: Part 1

May 4 @ 6:00 pm

When COVID-19 first hit our community we came to a complete standstill, we had been working for months with @chris.deschene and the @berniesanders team to bring Dr. Jane Sanders to the Nation. The beginning of March 2020 it looked like our hard work was paying off. We had just finalized the flyer, Baboquivari Unified School District was going to host the visit at the Baboquivari High School, Office of Emergency Management was going run ground logistics with Department or Public Safety for a tour and meeting with Tribal leaders in Arizona.
Then we got an email from the Jane Sanders team; COVID-19 is here, all travel will cease immediately.
We were devastated to say the least, but nothing compared to the loss of our community members due to COVID-19 and the new navigation of our lives through unprecedented time.
We are hosting this online 4 part Speakers Series to reflect on the year living through a pandemic.
Telling our own stories from our tribal leaders so we can learn from each other, heal together and move forward together. We are looking forward to all our guest speakers and we hope you will join us for this Facebook LIVE event.
Join us May 4th for the 1st of 4 events, featuring: Sif Oidak District Team, Sells District, Hickiwan District, and Schuk Toak District.
